A native of the D.C. suburbs, soprano Shauna Kreidler Michels has captivated audiences throughout France, Italy, Austria, Costa Rica, and the eastern seaboard of the U.S. — primarily performing in and around our nation’s capital. Ms. Kreidler Michels has appeared as a soloist with the City Choir of Washington, the Washington Master Chorale, the Front Royal Oratorio Society, Baroque ensemble Three-Notch’d Road, the choir of Ascension and St. Agnes, the Shenandoah Arts Academy Chorale, Six Degree Singers, and as a guest soloist with many churches in Maryland, Virginia, and the District. She has performed with groups ranging from the National Symphony Orchestra to the new-music powerhouse Great Noise Ensemble.
Currently, she is an ensemble member and soloist with the Washington Master Chorale and the Washington Master Chorale Chamber Singers; a founding member of the professional vocal ensembles Third Practice and Church Circle Singers; a staff soprano at St. Stephen Martyr; and a freelance soloist and cantor.
Ms. Kreidler Michels has also been featured in performances with the Washington Revels (Lisner Auditorium), with the Washington Revels Gallery Voices (Sydney Harman Hall; Cultural Arts Center at Montgomery College), and can be heard on recent recordings from both Washington Revels (Sing and Rejoice) and Washington Master Chorale (The Earth and I).
She holds both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in vocal performance from Shenandoah Conservatory.
